Jim Bryson is a highly respected Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer based in Ottawa, Ontario, known for his understated artistry, collaborative spirit, and significant contributions to Canada’s independent music landscape. With a career spanning over two decades, Bryson has released multiple critically acclaimed solo albums, beginning with his debut The Occasionals in 2000, and has built a reputation as a “songwriter’s songwriter” with a distinctive blend of folk, indie, and alternative country influences.  

In addition to his work as a recording artist, Bryson is an in-demand producer, operating out of his Fixed Hinge Studio. His production credits include acclaimed releases by artists such as Kathleen Edwards, Suzie Ungerleider, Ken Yates, and Caroline Marie Brooks. His work has received recognition from the Juno Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and Americana Music Awards, reflecting both artistic excellence and industry impact.  

Bryson has also toured extensively across Canada and internationally, both solo and performing with artists such as Edwards, Ungerleider, The Weakerthans & even a spell (2009) playing with The Tragically Hip, further cementing his reputation as a trusted creative partner and musician.
